Function and Application of Cefpirome Sulfate CAS  98753-19-6

1.  Cefpirome Sulfate is   A fourth generation cephalosporin antibiotic
2. Cefpirome sulfate can present a strong creatinine-like reaction when creatinine is measured by the acid salt method. Therefore, enzymatic determination is recommended to avoid false elevation of creatinine level. If an enzymatic assay is not available, a blood sample should be taken immediately before the next cefpirome administration, because if the recommended dose and dosing interval are used, the cefpirome serum level at this time is below its interference threshold.
3. A very small number of patients treated with cefpirome may have false-positive results on the Coombs test. False-positive results can occur when urine glucose is measured by non-enzymatic methods during treatment, so enzymatic methods are needed to clarify the presence of diabetes.
