Atenol ol, also known as aminoglutethi mide, atanerol, phenoxyamine, quicklime, tenormin, and blood pressure, is a long-acting cardioselective beta1-adrenoceptor blocker with no endogenous sympathomimetic activity or membrane stability. The blocking effect on β1-adrenoceptors is similar to that of metoprol ol, nadol ol and propranol ol and is 1/6th that of indololol and timol ol, but does not inhibit the bronchodilating effect of isoprenaline.
