Ceftezole sodium is a first-generation broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic that exerts antibacterial activity by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Its chemical structure is similar to that of cefazolin. It has a wide and powerful bactericidal power against a variety of G- and G+ bacteria, especially against Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis. It has high stability to β-lactamase generated by drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and G- bacteria, low nephrotoxicity, and can be used as appropriate for patients with renal insufficiency. It has high antibacterial activity, low cross-resistance, and low toxic side effects, etc. It is mainly used clinically for respiratory system infection, urinary system infection, biliary tract infection, traumatic infection, superficial purulent infection, deep purulent infection, gynecological infection, and otorhinolaryngological infection, etc.
