Cefozolan hydrochloride (cefozopranhydrochloride) is a fourth-generation injectable cephalosporin developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Industries, Japan, and is now widely used in Japan as the drug of choice in the early stages of out-of-hospital infections for the treatment of infections in various departments, including neonatal infections. In addition to MRSA, it has broad-spectrum activity, which is generally superior to ceftazidime, cefixime and fluoxymesterol against Gram-positive bacteria and comparable to cefpirome, and has equal activity against Gram-negative bacteria as the above-mentioned control agents. It has high stability to β-lactamase, wide distribution in the body, high plasma and tissue concentration, mostly excreted from urine in the form of prodrug. 24h urinary excretion rate of 80%-90%, no tendency of accumulation in the body.
