Cyclohexan-e, an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H12, is a colorless and pungent liquid, insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene, aceton-e, etc.

3.In the industrial recrystallization of steroids.
Cyclohexan-e is a petroleum product obtainedby distilling C4- 400°F boiling rangenaphthas, followed by fractionation  and superfractionation; also formed by catalytichydrogenation of benzene.
4.It is usedextensively as a solvent for lacquers  andresins, as a paint and varnish remover, andin the manufacture of adipic acid, benzene,cyclohexanol, and cyclohexanon-e.
