Kojic acid is found in kojic, it is something that people eat and it is safe to use. In recent years, a large number of patent literatures have reported the application of kojic acid in cosmetics. Tyrosinase is a key enzyme in the production of melanin. Kojic acid can chelate with the copper of tyrosinase to inactivate it, which is the basis of its whitening effect. The results of clinical and applied experiments show that kojic acid has a strong inhibition effect on the production of melanin in human skin, and it is safe, non-toxic, and will not cause white spot sequelae. Kojic acid and other preparations (such as SOD, placenta extract, amino acids, sunscreen and various kinds of plant Chemicalbook extracts, etc.) compound use effect is better. Kojic acid is mainly used in skin whitening products, anti-aging products, sunscreen products, whitening face wash and beauty cosmetics. Kojic acid has certain antibacterial activity. Gram-negative bacteria are more sensitive to sodium kojate than gram-positive bacteria, while the opposite is true for most other antibacterial substances. The antibacterial activity of kojic acid is much lower than that of other antibacterial substances, and its antibacterial activity is antibacterial rather than bactericidal.
