Drug interaction
1. The combination of alcohol and other central nervous depressants, such as barbiturates, hypnotics, opioid analgesics, antianxiety sedatives, and antiepileptic drugs, can increase the central nervous inhibitory effect of antihistamines, but the interaction of new antihistamines is weak.
2. Combined with other anticholinergic drugs, such as atropine, tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, can enhance the anticholinergic effect of this class of drugs.
3. Some antihistamines metabolized through the liver can increase adverse reactions when used in combination with liver enzyme inhibitors.
4. Some antihistamines may mask the toxic symptoms of certain ototoxic drugs, such as aminoglycoside antibiotics.
5. Antihistamines can inhibit the skin test reaction of allergenic substances, so the use of all antihistamines should be stopped several days before the skin test, so as not to affect the skin test results.
6. The combination of this product and phenytoin may inhibit its liver metabolism and increase its toxicity. Attention should be paid to monitoring the concentration of phenytoin.
7. Can enhance the effects of anticholinergics, haloperidol, phenothiazines and sympathomimetics.
8. Drinking alcohol or taking central nervous depressants at the same time can enhance the efficacy of this product.

Application

Chlorpheniramine is one of the strongest antihistamines, with a weaker sedative effect and a certain anticholinergic effect. The central inhibition is lighter. Can induce epilepsy, disabled in patients with epilepsy. Breastfeeding women, glaucoma, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, and prostatic hypertrophy are used with caution. Do not drive motor vehicles such as cars, boats or airplanes or operate the machine during the medication.
