Mifepristone is a  novel antiprogesterone with antiglucocorticoid activity. Mifepristone has the effect of anti-implantation of fertilized egg, inducing menstruation and promoting cervical maturity. The mechanism of promoting menstruation and stopping pregnancy is to block the effect of progesterone by competing with the progesterone receptor of intima (decidua). It has a 5 times stronger affinity for progesterone receptors than progesterone. It is used for anti-early pregnancy, promoting menstruation and stopping pregnancy, intrauterine induction of fetal death, etc.
