Description:
Benserazide hydrochloride is a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor, combined with levodopa to make a compound preparation dopasizide. Levodopa is an effective drug for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Its pharmacological effect is realized by converting it into dopamine by decarboxylase in the brain. Dopamine in the brain can improve Parkinson's disease. However, most of levodopa is converted into dopamine by the action of aromatic amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) in the external Chemicalbook, and only a small amount can enter the brain. Benserazide hydrochloride is used as an AADC inhibitor in combination with levodopa to inhibit levodopa It is converted into dopamine in the periphery, thereby increasing the amount of levodopa entering the brain, effectively improving the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
Uses:
Used as antiparkinsonian. A peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor
