What is Flunixin meglumine? Flunisine meglumine is a strong cyclooxygenase inhibitor with analgesic, antipyretic, anti - inflammatory and anti - rheumatic effects. Analgesic effect is caused by inhibiting the synthesis of peripheral prostaglandins or their nociceptive sensitizers or their combined action, thereby blocking the conduction of nociceptive impulses. The anti-inflammatory effect of peripheral tissues may be caused by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, reducing the formation of prostaglandin precursors, and inhibiting the local inflammatory response caused by other mediators.
