Inconel 718 is a Gamma Prime strengthened alloy with excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, as well as cryogenic temperatures. Suitable for temperatures upto around 1300 F. Can be readily worked and age hardened.
Excellent strength from -423 degrees F to 1300 degrees F (-253 degrees C to 705 degrees C). Age hardenable and may be welded in fully aged condition, Excellent oxidation resistance up to 1800 degrees F (980 degrees C). Typically sold in the solution annealed temper, but can be ordered aged, cold worked, or cold worked & aged.
Inconel 718 Plate is supplied to AMS 5596/5597 and has a UNS designation N07718. Alloy 718 Plate is a nickel-chromium alloy has an addition of aluminum. This addition allows it to demonstrate high mechanical properties even in extremely hot environments. Inconel 718 Sheet is typically used for Jet engine & Gas turbine operations. Inconel 718 Coil is also resistant to caustic corrosion and corrosion caused by high purity water. Cutting of Inconel 718 Clad Plate & Inconel 718 Strip is often done with a waterjet cutter. Internal threads can also be cut by single point method on lathe, or by threadmilling on a machining center. Inconel 718 Shim & Inconel 718 Flat Sheet is commonly used for cryogenic storage tanks, downhole shafts and wellhead parts. Inconel Alloy 718 Plate is used in applications that require high strength such as parts for high temperature Cryogenic tanks, jet engines and high speed airframe parts such as wheels, buckets, spacers. 718 Inconel Sheet can be cold formed by standards methods.
