On January 20, BYD officially unveiled the BYD Tang SUV in Shenzhen. The overall design of the BYD Tang still bears resemblance to the S6 and S7 models, but the new model adopts an all-new front design, with large chrome-plated areas, a black honeycomb intake grille, "big mouth" intakes on the front bumper, LED daytime running lights, and newly styled 5-spoke wheels, making it look much sportier than the S7.
The BYD Tang is equipped with a three-engine dual-mode powertrain system, consisting of a 2.0T turbocharged engine and front and rear electric motors, enabling independent power output to the front and rear wheels. In hybrid mode, the three "engines" work together to deliver maximum power of 371Kw and peak torque of 720Nm.
The BYD Tang has an all-new three-engine powertrain with a 2.0T engine and dual motors front and rear. In hybrid mode, the three engines work simultaneously to provide efficient and powerful performance. The super full-time AWD system revolutionizes the traditional mechanicals, combining the advantages of electric motors' fast response and highly efficient energy transfer to deliver stronger grip, higher safety and better fuel economy. The dual-mode technology pioneers a new realm of energy conservation and environmental protection, with fuel consumption of 2L/100km, surpassing the fuel efficiency limit of internal combustion engines. It can operate in pure electric mode for short distances and hybrid mode for carefree long-distance driving.
