Gentamicin Sulfate is a glucoside antibiotic consisting of amino sugar and ligand linkage, which is the sulfate of gentamicin and has an antibacterial spectrum similar to that of kanamycin. It is mainly used for systemic or local infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Bacillus dysenteriae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Ophthalmologically used for conjunctivitis, keratitis, etc. Oral can be used for intestinal infections or in preparation for colon surgery; can also be used in combination with metronidazole or clindamycin to reduce the rate of infection in colon surgery.
