Characteristics and uses of main types of stainless steel
          304: As a widely used steel, it has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties, good stamping, bending and other hot working properties, no heat treatment hardening phenomenon, no magnetism, and its use temperature is from minus 193 ºC to plus 800 ºC.
          Usage: Tableware, kitchenware, water heaters, boilers, automotive accessories, medical equipment, food machinery, wine storage equipment, pressure vessels (chemical machinery, chemical equipment).
         304L: As a low-carbon 304 steel, its corrosion resistance is similar to that of 304 under normal conditions. However, after welding and stress relief, it has good resistance to intergranular corrosion and can maintain good corrosion resistance even without heat treatment. It is generally used at 400 degrees Celsius.
         Usage: Petrochemical industry, building materials.
         321 Adding Ti element to 304 steel to prevent intergranular corrosion, suitable for temperatures below 430 to 900 degrees Celsius, non magnetic;
         Usage: Products that do not undergo heat treatment after welding, such as automotive exhaust, heat exchangers, and containers, are not suitable for making food processing equipment due to the addition of Ti elements.
          316 is low-carbon with the addition of MO element, so its corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance, and high-temperature strength performance are particularly good. It can be used under harsh conditions and is suitable for use below 900 degrees Celsius, without magnetism.
         Usage: Equipment used in seawater, production equipment such as chemical, dye, papermaking, acetic acid, fertilizer, food industry and coastal facilities, products with special requirements for resistance to intergranular corrosion.
        The 309S/310S materials have a relatively high content of nickel and chromium, while increasing the content of Si, making them resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. The 309S can withstand repeated heating below 980 degrees, and the 310S can be used at a temperature of 1200 degrees. The continuous use temperature can reach 1150 degrees, without magnetism.
         Usage: Suitable for key parts such as high-temperature electric furnace equipment, drying equipment, furnace materials, aviation, petrochemical, power, etc.
        The 200 series is similar to 304 in terms of cheap and economical price.
         Usage: Food processing utensils, kitchen equipment, food processing equipment, filters, milk cans, durable consumer goods, washing machine accessories, water heaters, steel furniture, building decoration, decoration. In terms of fatigue resistance, 201 has a higher hardness, but its toughness is not as good as 304. It is better for 304 to have better fatigue resistance.
