Product Description

Sodium deoxycholic acid is the sodium salt of deoxycholic acid. It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature, which smells like bile and has a strong bitter taste. Sodium deoxycholate is an ionic detergent, which can be used to lyse cells and dissolve proteins that are difficult to dissolve in water. It can also be used for bile lysis experiments. The principle is that bile or bile salts have surface activity, which can quickly activate autolysase and accelerate the self-lysis of bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Application 

Biochemical research; preparation of bacterial culture medium instead of cephalin for cholesterol flocculation test; protein analysis; can be used for the extraction of membrane receptors and other plasma membrane proteins and the separation of cell nuclei
