Product Description
Stainless steels are a family of iron based alloys that contain a minimum of 10.5% chromium (CR). The presence of chromium creates an invisible surface film that resists oxidation and makes the material passive or corrosion resistant (stainless). There are multiple families of stainless steel which are designed for various applications and uses. Stainless grades can be further modified to meet various processing, corrosion, temperature and strength conditions.
300 series grade.
300 Series stainless steels are classified as austenitic, and are hardenable only by cold working methods. These grades of stainless have chromium (approx. 18 to 30%) and nickel (approx. 6 to 20%) as their major alloying additions. Type 304 is the most widely used alloy of all stainless steels. 300 Series Stainless steel alloys resist corrosion, maintain their strength at high temperatures and are easy to maintain.

Stainless steel 304/304L Grade :
Type 304/304L is the modern version of "18-8" stainless steel containing approximately 18% chromium and 8% nickel and is the most commonly specified stainless steel used throughout the world. Type 304/304L is a versatile, general purpose stainless steel with good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, and to many chemicals and food and beverages. These grades can be specified in the annealed condition where they have very good formability. Higher nickel versions can be specified to enhance multi-stage deep drawing characteristics. Higher strength, cold-worked conditions can also be specified for Type 304/304L for spring type applications. Type 304/304L is non-magnetic in the annealed condition but may become slightly magnetic as a result of cold working.
Type 304L can be dual certified as 304 when the composition meets the lower carbon limit of 304L and the slightly higher strength levels of 304. Type 304L should be specified for welded applications as the low carbon version eliminates chromium carbide precipitation and enhances the corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition.
Stainless steel 316/316L Grade :
Alloy 316/316L is molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The higher nickel and molybdenum content in this grade allows it to demonstrate better overall corrosion resistant properties than 304, especially with regard to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. In addition, Alloy 316/ 316L provides excellent elevated temperature tensile, creep and stress-rupture strengths, as well as outstanding formability and weldability. 316L is the lower carbon version of 316 and is immune from sensitization; therefore, it is very frequently used in heavy gauge welded components.
Specifications: UNS S31600 / S31603
Stainless steel 310 / 310S Grade :
Type 310S is a high temperature chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel with high creep strength that resists oxidation at temperatures up to 2000˚F in dry air. Type 310S forms a tenacious scale at high temperature and is resistant to spalling and performs better than Type 309 in thermal cycling applications. Type 310 has good sulfidation resistance and good resistance to carburization in moderately carburizing atmospheres. Type 310S is the low carbon version of Type 310 and is utilized for ease of fabrication due to its better formability and weldability. Type 310S is non-magnetic in the annealed and cold worked conditions and is as resistant to corrosion as Type 304/304L.
Stainless steel 316Ti Grade :
Alloy 316Ti Sheets & Plates provides superior functionality and features like withstand high temperatures, resistance to oxidation and corrosion, and machinability similar to that of Type 304. We are dedicated to offering these products in customized form with respect to its sizes and shapes.
Moreover, Stainless Steel 316Ti Coils are used in harsh environments under tough conditions in advanced technology fields such as desalination, atomic power, semiconductors. Please contact us today to get best in class stainless steel products or request a free, no obligation estimate!
Stainless steel 317L Grade :
Alloy 317L is a molybdenum containing, low carbon austenitic stainless steel with increased additions of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum for better corrosion resistance and increased resistance to chemical attack for sulfurous, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. Due to its low carbon content, 317L also provides resistance to sensitization when welded and higher creep, stress to rupture, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition but may become slightly magnetic after welding.
Stainless steel 430 Grade :
Type 430 is a ferritic stainless steel with corrosion resistance approaching that of 304/304L stainless steel. This grade does not work harden rapidly and can be formed using both mild stretch forming, bending, or drawing operations. This grade is used in a variety of interior and exterior cosmetic applications where corrosion resistance is more important than strength. Type 430 has poor weldability compared to most stainless steels due to the higher carbon content and lack of stabilizing elements for this grade, which requires post weld heat treatment to restore the corrosion resistance and ductility. Stabilized grades such as Type 439 and 441 should be considered for welded ferritic stainless steel applications.
Stainless steel 410S Grade :
Type 410S is a corrosion and heat resistant martensitic stainless steel containing approximately 12% chromium offering a wide range of mechanical properties through heat treatment. This grade offers a moderate level of corrosion resistance and the maximum resistance is obtained by hardening through heat treatment followed by polishing. Type 410 is used for cutlery applications, kitchen utensils and hand tools and is magnetic in both the annealed and hardened conditions.
Stainless steel 420 Grade :
Alloy 420 is a hardenable, martensitic stainless steel that is a modification of Alloy 410. Similar to 410, it contains a minimum of 12% chromium, just sufficient enough to give corrosion resistant properties. Alloy 420 has higher carbon content than Alloy 410 which is designed to optimize strength and hardness characteristics. It has good ductility it the annealed condition but is capable of being hardened up to Rockwell hardness 50 HRC, the highest hardness of the 12% chromium grades. Due to its hardening properties, Alloy 420 is not often welded, although it is possible. Martensitic stainless steels are designed for high hardness and sometimes other properties are to some degree compromised. Corrosion resistance is lower than the common austenitic grades and their useful operating range is limited by their loss of ductility at sub-zero temperatures and loss of strength by over-tempering at elevated temperatures. Its best corrosion resistance is achieved when the metal is hardened and surface ground or polished.
Stainless steel 3Cr12 Grade :
3CR12
is a chromium containing corrosion resisting ferritic steel developed as an alternative material of construction where the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and fabrication requirements of other materials such as mild steel, galvanised or aluminised steel, aluminium or pre-painted steels are unsuited.
Originally 3CR12 was not included in any international specifications. However, a 12 per cent chromium steel developed from 3CR12 has been designated DIN type 1,4003 and ASTM/ASME 41003. The former has been incorporated into two Euronorm Standards viz. EN 10088 and EN 10028, 3CR12 conforms to the requirements of the above specifications and is multi certifiable to 3CR12, 1.4003 and 41003, due to its inclusion in the above specifications. 3CR12 vessels and tanks can be designed in accordance to BS5500, ASME, AD Merkblatter codes and the Euronorm design specification currently in preparation.
