Introduction to the

Procain e hydrochloride is a local anesthetic, which can temporarily block the conduction of nerve fibers and has anesthetic effect. It has strong effect, low toxicity and no addiction. However, it is not suitable for surface anesthesia because of its weak penetration of skin and mucous membrane, and it is mainly used for infiltration, spine and conduction anesthesia in clinic.   The aqueous solution of this product is stable in pH3.0 ~ 5.0.   Therefore, when preparing hydrochloride injection, it is generally necessary to add acid to adjust pH3.3 ~ 5.5, and strictly control the sterilization temperature and time. It is advisable to sterilize with steam at 100ºC for 30 minutes, and pay attention to the shielding and airtight preservation.   The aromatic amino group in the structure of this product in dilute , and chemicalbookate   to produce diazo salt, adding basic β-naphthol coupling reaction, to produce scarlet azo compound.

The nature of the

 hydrochloride is white fine needle crystal or crystalline powder at room temperature, odor-free, slightly bitter taste and linen, easily soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in , almost insoluble in ether.   The ester bonds in hydrochloride structure can be hydrolyzed to produce p-aminobenzoic acid and diethylaminobenethanol.Under certain conditions, p-aminobenzoic acid can be further decarboxylated to produce toxic  .   The structure of  hydrochloride has aromatic amino group, easy oxidation and discoloration, pH value, temperature, ultraviolet light, oxygen and metal ions can accelerate the oxidation and discoloration.
