• It is not acceptable for use with chlorinated polyvinylchloride (CPVC) pipes
• All acrylic based sealants are susceptible to a degree of shrinkage. This should be taken into account when applying the material
• Can not be used for structural glazing and use in insulated glass (IG) units.
• Can not be used on substrates that excessively alkaline or acidic
• It is used on the surface of the newly constructed concrete substrate and needs to be cured for at least 30 days before it can be applied.
• Can not be used on bare steel substrate surfaces that are not treated with a rust inhibitive primer
• Can not be used in rainy weather or below 5 °C
• Can not be used in applications where the ambient temperature is below -30 ° C or above 80 ° C
• Avoiding rain and flooding before the product is fully cured

HOW TO USE:
•
Substrate Preparation
Ensure that all surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, sound and free from frost. Clean all joints of loose dust, dirt, laitance, grease, moisture, soap residue, old sealants and other contaminants which could impair adhesion.
•
Masking
Masking tape can be used in the area adjacent to the joint to ensure a neat sealant line, preventing the surrounding surplus sealant from contaminating the substrate surface.
•
Back-up materials
Closed-cell polyethylene foam backer rod or mineral wool should be used as specified in the fire test data.
•
Applying sealant
Cut the nozzle at an angle of 45° depending on the shape and specification needed. screw nozzle onto cartridge and place it into caulking gun. Air-operated or hand-operated caulking guns can be used. Apply sealant to the bottom of the joint to fill the joint completely and to ensure adhesion to both sides of the joint. Do not simply lay a bead on the surface as the sealant will not penetrate the joint under its own weight.
•
Tooling
Tool sealant with appropriate tool to ensure smooth even finis and ensure full contact with the surface or the joint. If necessary, smooth the surface with wet finger or spatula and wipe off the excess with a water-dampened rag.
•
Painting
AC128 High Performance Fireproof Acrylic Caulking Sealant can be overpainted with latex or oil base paint.
