CAS No.: 78-93-3, EC No.: 201-159-0
Formula: C4H8O
Petrochemical solvent. A clear liquid that is soluble in water and has a mild, acetone odor. As a Ketone solvent, highly mobile liquids with a characteristic odor. Due to the carbonyl group, ketones are hydrogen acceptors and have an outstanding solvency.
Application
In the low boiling point organic solvent, methyl ethyl ketone is famous for its outstanding dissolving capacity and dry characteristic. It is mainly used in polyurethane resin, PU leather and imitation leather, bond, coating, lubricating oil dewaxing, printing ink, magnetic recording material and so on industries, it is also an important fine chemical raw material.
Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Ground and bond containers when transferring material. Use spark-proof tools and explosion proof equipment. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Empty containers retain product residue, (liquid and/or vapor), and can be dangerous. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not pressurize, cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind, or expose empty containers to heat, sparks or open flames. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor.
Storage:
Keep away from sources of ignition. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.
Flammables-area.
