Atrazine
Introduction:
Atrazine is a selective systemic triazine herbicide which can be used both pre and post-emergence for the control of grass and broadleaf weeds in crops. It is mainly absorbed through the plant roots, but can enter through the foliage, and accumulates in the apical meristems and leaves.
Product kind: Herbicide
Chemical name: 6-chloro-N-ethyl-N'-isopropyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diamine
Structural formula:
Technical: 97%TC
Type of formulation: 500g/L SC, 80%WP, 90%WP, 80%WDG, 90%WDG
Characteristic and Usage:
l A pre- and post-emergence herbicide which effectively stops photosynthesis, thereby killing the plant.
l Selective control of grasses or annual weeds in corn, sorghum, sugar cane or pineapples; in forestry cultivation; and selective control of pond-weeds, especially submerged aquatic plants.
l High application rates give non-selective control in non-crop areas.
l Both pre-plant and post emergence, applied when weed seeding is less then 4cm high.
l Require rainfall or irrigation to move it down through the soil into the weed root zone to make it effective.
