Diglycerol has excellent moisture retention and is a good water-based solvent. It can also be used as a moisturizer, softener, antifreeze, and it can also be used in biodegradable plastics. The diglycerol molecule contains four hydroxyl groups, which is an organic synthesis intermediate with various reaction possibilities such as esterification and etherification. Mainly used to prepare fatty acid esters, used as emulsifiers and defoamers, etc.
Application 

The uses of diglycerol are as follows: mostly used as cosmetic moisturizing additives, degradable plastic additives, cleaning additives, metalworking fluid additives, cement grinding aids, concrete additives, ink additives, etc.
