Physical and chemical properties
White acicular crystal (ethanol), soluble in hot water, hot ethanol and ace.tone, soluble in ethanol, methano.l, very slightly soluble in ethyl .acetate, insoluble in chlor.oform, petroleum. ether. Microherb Chemicalbook study showed that dihydromyricetin had good thermal stability, but with the increase of temperature above 100ºC, dihydromyricetin would undergo irreversible oxidation. Dihydromyricetin is stable under neutral and slightly acidic conditions.
Pharmacological action
Dimyricetin is one of the main active components of Tengma tea. It has many biological functions, such as scavenging free radicals, anti-oxidation, anti-hypertension, anti-thrombus, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory and so on. Dihydromyricetin as a special Chemicalbook flavonoid compound, in addition to the general characteristics of flavonoids, but also has the effects of lifting alcoholism, preventing alcoholic liver, fatty liver, inhibiting liver cell deterioration, reducing the incidence of liver cancer, is a good product to protect the liver and cure the hangover.
