Butylated Hydroxytoluene is a white crystal. When exposed to light, the color turns yellow and gradually darkens.

Application:
1.Polymer materials:
BHT is a commonly used stabilizer in polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride (dosage 0.01-0.1%), and polyethylene ether. It can prevent discoloration and mechanical strength loss in polystyrene and its copolymers and can be used in plastics.
2.Rubber industry:
Antioxidant BHT is a commonly used phenolic antioxidant in rubber, which has a protective effect on the thermal oxidative aging of synthetic rubber, acrylic ester, and latex products such as natural rubber, cis-1,4-butadiene, butadiene styrene, butyl, isoprene, nitrile, and ethylene propylene, and can inhibit copper damage.
The combination of antioxidant BHT with ozone and wax can prevent various weather factors from damaging vulcanized rubber. Antioxidant BHT is easily dispersed in rubber and can be directly mixed with rubber or added as a dispersion into latex.
Antioxidant BHT can be used to manufacture sidewalls of tires, various rubber and dairy products in white, bright, and transparent colors, as well as rubber products for daily use, healthcare, adhesive tapes, rubber shoes, and edible products. It can also be used as a stabilizer for post-processing and storage of synthetic rubber.
3. Industrial oils:
Antioxidant BHT is an additive for various petroleum products.
Antioxidant BHT is widely used in turbine oil, transformer oil, hydraulic oil, heat transfer oil, brake oil, Spindle oil, precision machine oil and paraffin as an antioxidant and sizing agent. Antioxidants can be directly or blended into the mother liquor and added to the product to extend its durability. The combination of antioxidant BHT and long chain alkaline ZDDP, TCP metal deactivation rust inhibitor can be used to modulate anti wear hydraulic oil and other products. The dosage is generally 0.1-1%.
4. Application in fuel oil:
Due to the presence of small amounts of sulfur nitrogen compounds and olefins in diesel, antioxidant BHT can be used.
