Sodium acetate High Purity CAS 127-09-3

Sodium acetate is powder and agglomerate.  These two versions are chemically identical and differ only in physical form.  The agglomerate offers the properties of non-dustiness, improver wettability, higher bulk density and improver free-flowability.

Sodium Acetate is chemically designated C2H3NaO2, a hygroscopic powder very soluble in water.  Sodium acetate could be used as additives in food, industry, concrete manufacture, heating pads and in buffer solutions.  Medically, sodium acetate is important component as an electrolyte replenisher when given intravenously.  It is mainly indicated to correct sodium levels in hyponatremic patients.  It can be used also in metabolic acidosis and for urine alkalinization.

Application:

Sodium Acetate Anhydrous is used in the pharmaceutical industry,as a buffer in the photographic industry and as a supplement for animal feeds to increase the milk fat production of dairy cattle. It is also used in the production of dye stuffs,as a polymerization catalyst,as a polymer stabilizer,as a flavouring agent,and in the manufacture of hydroxyl oximes,which are uesd as extractants in hydrometallurgy.

Acetic acid has been said to prevent bacteria cultivation and therefore has been used not only to add sour taste but to preserve food .Sodium acetate is a food additives obtained by neutralization of acetic acid.
