Cetearyl Alcohol, chemical formula C34H72O2, white solid crystal, granular or waxy mass, scented. Melting point 48~50 °C, boiling point 344 °C. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether,  mineral oil. It has a sulfonation reaction with concentrated sulfuric acid, and has no chemical effect in case of strong alkali. It has the effect of inhibiting greasyness, reducing the viscosity of wax raw materials, and stabilizing cosmetic latex.
