The chemical name of acetaminophen is N-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)acetamide, the trade name of paracetamol, which belongs to the acetanili de class of antipyretic and analgesic drugs. it was first synthesized by Morse in 1878 and first used clinically by VonMering in 1893. It became an over-the-counter drug in the United States in 1955 and was first produced in China in the late 1950s. Its appearance is white crystal or crystalline powder, melting point 168-172ºC, odourless, slightly bitter taste, soluble in hot water or ethanol, dissolved in acet one, almost insoluble in cold water and petro leum ether. It is stable below 45ºC, but if exposed to humid air it will hydrolyse into p-aminophenol, then further oxidation will occur and the colour will gradually turn pink, brown and finally black, so it should be stored in a cool and dry place in a closed place.

Function and Application of Paracetamol CAS 103-90-2
1.  Folinic acid (calcium folinate) is a specific form of reduced folic acid (folate) and high dose folinic acid interventions given to children with CFD can improve their neurological and developmental abnormalities. Abnormal folate metabolism is associated with the development of autism in children. Genetic polymorphisms in folate-related pathways may lead to abnormal folate metabolism. Studies have found that folic acid supplementation during prenatal and conception reduces the risk of autism in offspring.
2. Folic acid is used as an antitoxic agent against tumours and as an adjuvant against megaloblastic anaemia at 1/2 the dose of folinic acid. L-folic acid does not need to be reduced by dihydrofolate reductase to participate in the reaction using folates as a source of one-carbon units, and it can pass through cell membranes actively or passively; its basic effect is the same as that of folic acid, but it is more effective than folic acid, and it also has the effect of stimulating the growth and maturation of leucocytes, which improves megaloblastic anaemia.
