Octadecanol can be used instead of hexadecanol, such as dispersing agent in pharmaceutical, cream cream, emulsifier in cosmetics, rice field insulation agent, reservoir cover agent, defoaming agent, polishing agent, lubricant, etc.   Octadecanol can be used in the production of Pingpingjia, resin and synthetic rubber, color film and so on.   Antioxidant 1076 (2082-79-3) can be prepared by reaction of octadecanol with methyl ester of β-(3, 5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate with sodium methano l as catalyst and dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent at 130ºC for 2-3h.   This IS AN EXCELLENT non-polluting non-toxic antioxidant, widely used in POLYOLEFin, polyamide, polyester, PVC, POLYstyrene, ABS resin to expand all kinds of rubber petroleum products.
