Hydrophobic chromatography makes use of the fact that proteins are adsorbed on the hydrophobic groups of hydrophobic chromatographic media under high salt conditions, and when the salt concentration is lowered, different proteins will be eluted according to their hydrophobicity from weak to strong, so as to achieve the purpose of separation and purification. Hydrophobic chromatography is one of the most commonly used methods for the separation and purification of biological macromolecules because of its mild operating conditions and high resolution.

 

Northwest Biology's hydrophobic chromatography media are based on high flow rate agarose gels with Phenyl, Butyl and Octyl as ligands, which retain the excellent hydrophilicity and pore structure of natural polysaccharide compounds, and have good compatibility with biologically active molecules, high hydrophobicity and high loading capacity, and are especially suited for the purification of proteins, enzymes, polysaccharides, nucleic acids, plasmids and so on.
