Grade 440C is classified as a martensitic class of stainless steel. This steel grade contains a high content of carbon in its chemistry. This is why the   440C stainless steel round bar   is referred to as a high carbon stainless steel alloy. Because of the higher content of carbon in its chemical composition, the martensitic   440Cc stainless steel welding rod   exhibits properties such as high strength, and good hardness and wear resistance.

Unlike conventional stainless steels in the austenitic class, the corrosion resistance properties of   440C stainless steel rods   are considered to be in the moderate range.
