What is Hydroxyethyl Cellulose ?

Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a white or yellowish, odorless, flowing powder. Soluble in hot water and generally insoluble in most organic solvents. The viscosity changes little in the PH range 2-12, but decreases beyond this range. Uses Hydroxyethyl cellulose is generally used as a thickening agent, protective agent, binder, stabilizer and additive for the preparation of emulsions, gels, ointment, lotion, eye clearers, suppositories and tablets, as well as for hydrophilic gels, skeleton materials, preparation of skeleton sustained release preparations, and can also be used as a stabilizer in food.

 

Fuction and Application of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose

As a surfactant, colloidal protective agent,  other emulsion emulsion stabilizer,
as well as latex thickening agent, dispersant, dispersion stabilizer, etc. Widely used in coating, fiber, dyeing,
papermaking, cosmetics, medicine, pesticides and other aspects. It also has many uses in oil extraction and
machinery industry. It is used as surfactant, latex thickening agent, colloid protection agent, oil fracturing fluid
and polystyrene and dispersant.
