Product Description

BS-SWT6000 Wound healing shock wave machine for Diabetic foot

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy Equipment, also called Acoustic Wave Therapy Equipment, mainly for physical therapy treatment, sports injury and rehabitation treatment.

SmartWave BS-SWT6000 models using a projectile accelerated in the handpiece, to generates a mechanical pressure wave, which is transferred to the human body by an applicator head and which radiates out in the tissue. The mechanical energy is absorbed by the tissue and decreases as the distance from the application site increases, and stress triggers reactions in the tissue that have a positive influence on a wide range of orthopedic and neurological conditions, thus get the result of pain relief, including acute pain and chronic pain reduction.

BS-Swt6000 Wound Healing Shock Wave Machine for Diabetic Foot

Diabetes Mellitus is a condition in which excessively high glucose (sugar) levels in the blood can jeopardize the health of the liver, eyes, kidneys and blood vessels. One of the potential effects of diabetes is a weakened immune system rendering the body unable to effectively fight off infections. Additionally, the disease often leads to serious problems with the feet.
One of the most common foot problems associated with Diabetes is the inability to sense pressure on the foot; a condition known as Diabetic Neuropathy. This condition is due to a damaged nervous system which is caused by the high blood glucose levels.

The weakened nervous system is not able to effectively convey messages from the feet to the brain, leading to an inability for the patient to feel their feet. This also impairs normal sweat secretion and oil production in the feet, leading to excessively dry feet. Also, the inability to sense their feet may lead to abnormal pressure forces on the feet during walking, which may develop into skin problems that often result in sores.

Due to the suppression of the immune response in diabetics, the body is often unable to heal any wound that may develop. If left untreated, bacterial infections can lead to gangrene, which may require amputation to ensure that the infection does not spread to other parts of the body.

While the ESWT technology is quite different from current standards of soft tissue wound care, it is conceptually similar in its potential wound benefits. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy appears to increase local wound vascular density and blood flow as well as the rate of granulation tissue production while reducing bacterial counts. This would clearly accelerate healing time and promote the eradication of preexisting bacterial overgrowth. Extracorporeal shockwave therapy has shown potential for spontaneous epithelialization with a reduced need for secondary suturing, skin graft or flap closure.    Extracorporeal shockwave therapy generates an acoustic pressure wave that penetrates human tissue through a liquid medium. One can focus the energy wave to a point or distribute it over a broad therapeutic front. Initially, researchers believed ESWT mechanically induced micro-sized fractures in bone tissue. However, it is now widely accepted that ESWT induces a reproducible biological response in target and surrounding tissue, releasing wound growth factors locally, stimulating stem cells and producing an antibacterial effect on biofilms (clusters of bacteria with a protective coating). Accordingly, ESWT facilitates vascular in-growth, re-epithelialization and complete wound closure.

About shock wave therapy: Reliable electromagnetic shock wave generation

The method of electromagnetic shock wave generation is based on the physical principle of electromagnetic induction, as used for example in loudspeakers. The arrangement of coil and membrane is optimized to generate powerful and short acoustic pulses, an ideal form of shock waves for indications close to skin surface, like non-healing wounds.

Shock waves are preferably used in the treatment of wound healing disorders. The energy level and the shock wave field warrant an exact treatment of the wound.

Shock waves initiate healing processes

1. Stimulation of microcirculation (blood, lymph) and metabolism (nitrous oxide, vasodilation, reduction of oxidative stress)
2. Mechanotransduction - cell matrix stimulation
3. Increase of cell wall permeability (increased molecular mobility)
4. Release of NO (eNOS)
5. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect
6. Stimulation of growth factors (e.g. VEGF)
7. Stimulation of stem cells i.e. cell proliferation, transport and differentiation (skin rejuvenation, tissue regeneration)
