Procater ol hydrochloride is a β2-receptor agonist with high selectivity for β2-receptors in the bronchi, blocking the cough reflex, reducing vascular permeability, reducing pulmonary oedema, activating adenylate cyclase, increasing cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, enabling respiratory hyperresponsiveness, from inhibiting bronchospasm, promoting cilia movement and expelling sputum. Procater ol hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic drug, a new generation of long-acting beta2-agonists, which has a diastolic effect on the smooth muscle of the airways, resulting in improvement of central airway narrowing and effectively reducing cough symptoms, and works better in patients with croup during coughing when airway spasm is evident. It also has a strong anti-allergic effect, inhibiting not only the rapid increase in airway resistance, but also the delayed increase in airway response. The product can also promote the ciliary effect of the respiratory tract. It can be taken orally for 10-30 minutes and can be maintained for 10-12 hours, and also has expectorant and cough suppressing effects. It is commonly used clinically in the treatment of bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis and emphysema, and is more widely used in cough variant asthma with significant effect.
