Octreotide is a synthetic octapeptide cyclic compound. It is a homologue of natural somatostatin and has the pharmacological activity of natural somatostatin.It has a long-acting effect (The half-life of this product is 1.5 hours, while natural somatostatin is 2 to 3 minutes). This product has a selective inhibitory effect on the secretion of growth hormon e, glucagon, and insuli n, and has a stronger effect than natural somatostatin.
