MSH is an  anti-inflammatory  hormone that also functions as anti-microbial and anti-fungal.

MSH  brings down brain inflammation  (from TNF).

MSH causes a  lower immune response to lectins  (PHA).

MSH  stimulates the thyroid hormone precursor TRH  (precursor to TSH, via MC4R).

Increases in MSH lead to  increased T3  in rats.
